Plastic Credit Exchange (PCX), the world’s first global, non-profit, fully integrated plastic offset platform, has plenty to celebrate this Earth Day.
The company has reached a milestone by cleaning up over 16 million kilograms of post-consumer plastic waste from nature and feeding it into the circular economy. PCX marks this occasion with the release of a video campaign rallying this generation to be part of the solution to the plastic pollution crisis.
A call to action: PCX invites partners from all sectors and industries to join the movement towards plastic neutrality.
PCX has also announced that by removing plastic from the environment and using it to replace coal as an energy source, it has prevented over 27,000 tonnes worth of carbon emissions and helped to preserve non-renewable natural resources.
Staying true to its mission, PCX supports environmental protection with programs that improve livelihoods and scale up social impact. To-date, PCX’s plastic waste collection programs have provided an estimated US$1.5 million of incremental income to underserved communities in the Philippines.
“Running a business sustainably should happen everyday, not just on Earth Day,” said Nanette Medved-Po, the company’s founder and chairwoman. “PCX offers a simple way to make a huge impact that gives its partners the opportunity to make environmental protection a part of their values and culture.”
