In an effort to continuously learn and adopt industry best practices, Plastic Credit Exchange (PCX) has recently become a member of the International Solid Waste Management Association (ISWA), granting access to and active participation in a network of sustainability experts and practitioners around the world.
ISWA is an independent non-profit association with a mission to promote and develop professional waste management on a global scale as a contribution to sustainable development. With over 1,000 members in 110 countries, ISWA brings together stakeholders such as industry experts, organizations, research institutes, regulatory authorities, and the academe.
“ISWA will be an important global platform for PCX to engage with waste professionals from around the world to grow the recognition and adoption of plastic credits as a key mechanism in the transition towards a circular economy. It provides us with a unique opportunity to learn from others and to actively contribute our unique point of view and experience,” says PCX Circular Economy Director, Vincent Kneefel.
Aside from constant collaboration and innovation, ISWA hosts a variety of key activities, including conferences, training programs, information dissemination, and technical assistance, to achieve its objective of providing safe waste management for all.
“With our membership, PCX will become an active member of the Recycling and Waste Minimization working group and other plastic waste-related groups,” adds Kneefel.
PCX aims to actively participate in initiatives where it can share its knowledge and expertise. This will include the Plastic Credit report that ISWA is currently developing. Through the membership, PCX hopes to expand its network by engaging in ISWA events, such as the global summit in Singapore happening in September 2022.
